Watching a video of himself, wearing his own brand of trainers and telling old pal Hargreaves he'd have played if it was the final... a night in the life of injured Ronaldo, the ultimate sideshow at City
All eyes were on Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo after he was ruled out of the Spanish giants' team to face Manchester City in the first leg of their crunch Champions League semi-final. And the 31-year-old certainly didn't disappoint in the pre-match build-up as he took his seat in the away dugout prior to kick-off at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night. Ronaldo, who donned his own brand of footwear, was pictured watching a video of himself on his iPhone - which was posted by Gary Lineker on Instagram - as he kept himself busy while his team-mates geared up for the crunch clash.
BT Sport presenter Lineker posted the video of Ronaldo, along with the caption 'does this mean Ronaldo will not start for Real Madrid?', which showed the star suggesting he was out of the match.
In true Ronaldo style, the Portugal captain - who matched the £115 Waves Derby 01 Saffiano shoes with smart attire - soaked up the pitchside atmosphere and appeared in reasonably high spirits.
Ronaldo posed with one eyebrow raised for a trademark selfie alongside Madrid's 19-year-old striker Borja Mayoral - taken on a personalised phone featuring the youngster's image, name and shirt number on the back - as he looked relaxed, albeit not entirely thrilled, with sitting in the stands.
