JAMIE VARDY has won the FWA Footballer of the Year award after his amazing season for Leicester.
Journalists from around the country cast their votes and decided the Foxes hitman deserved to be named.
The England international has netted 22 goals and helped fire his side to within touching distance of the Premier League title.
Riyad Mahrez — who picked up the PFA Player of the Year award gong last week — has made 35 appearances and netted 17 times with 11 assists.
The Algerian’s Foxes team-mate N’Golo Kante is known as the unsung hero of the Premier League champions elect and was overlooked for the award.
Harry Kane also missed out even though he has scored 24 times for Tottenham this season.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
