- Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy misses out on a place in the first XI
- Vardy's full potential won't be discovered without sufficient game-time
A measure of Roy Hodgson's excitement here in Berlin was just how easy it proved to persuade him to reveal the team he will unleash against the Germans on Saturday evening.

But a gentle reminder that he was now with journalists writing for the morning newspapers and his stance relaxed somewhat, Hodgson not only listing his players from one to 11 but then elaborating on why they fill him with such optimism.
