Payet sweeps the board at West Ham player of the year awards as legend Hurst is honoured with lifetime achievement gong
Dimitri Payet scooped five gongs at West Ham's annual awards ceremony on Monday night as the Hammers celebrated what will undoubtedly go down as a successful season. West Ham's star players were joined by Ray Winstone at the London Hilton Hotel but there was no Hollywood style surprises as the Frenchman dominated the evening in his first season at the club. Payet, whose importance to Slaven Bilic's side was highlighted when by a winter slump while the 29-year-old was out injured, won Hammer of the Year, Players' Player of the Year, Signing of the Season, Top Goalscorer and the Goal of the Season award for his free-kick against Crystal Palace last month.
