Ranieri interview on Sky
On winning the title...
“It was an amazing achievement.
“It was unbelievable because we wanted to do something special but nobody could think about what we’ve achieved now.
“I am very pleased.”
How did you celebrate?
“Oh, nothing. I was at home with my wife. Nothing more. We spoke with my family in Rome and that was it.”
It has taken you a long time to win a league title...
“In my mind I always believe I had to win a title. Every season for me my strength is that I’m a positive man and I believed I could achieve something.”
When did you believe you had won it?
“I believe last night. No, of course you feel something but I am a pragmatic man and I know football very well. Something strange could happen with Tottenham.
“I want to say congratluations to them because they had a fantastic season as well.”
Can Leicester repeat this feat?
“No. I think no but of course we want top continue to build.
“When I come here the project was to build a foundation and slowly grow together and fight for Europe.
“Now this season is out of our project but the foundation was very very solid. Next season we have to fight for our position all over.
“I’m positive.”
A top 10 finish the target for next season?
“Yes.”
On summer transfers...
“We don’t want to sell nobody. Of course if some players don’t want to stay then I don’t want unhappy people.
“Then we are looking to reinforce the team but with the same mentality, this is my mentality.
“Who comes must know we are working hard.”
