Arsenal on verge of completing long-awaited deal for striker
ARSENAL are on the verge of completing a deal for Nigeria youth international Samuel Chukwueze, according to reports.Chukwueze has been linked with a move to the Emirates for a number of months and was believed to be part of a deal with fellow Nigeria U17 star Kelechi Nwakali.
Nwakali revealed last month he had signed a five-year deal with the Gunners, telling websiteAllNigeriaSoccer it was his 'dream' to join Arsenal.
And now a source close to Chukwueze has told the Nigerian publication a deal is also in place for the 16-year-old Diamond Academy striker.
However, an issue about payment of his transfer fee is yet to be fully resolved, which has led to the slight delay in negotiations.“There was a little bit of a hitch," the source told AllNigeriaSoccer.
"But at the end of the day it will be resolved if, and only if, Diamond Academy agree.“Arsenal want to pay Chukwueze’s transfer fee when he is 18, but Diamond felt it was too far for them.
"But they should agree.”
