Ronaldo says son is good enough to be a footballer but he won't force him into it
Cristiano Ronaldo does not often concede that other footballers are as good as him, but in a rare admission by the Portuguese, he said there is one such person who could become just as brilliant..his very own son. Being five years old, it is highly unlikely Cristiano Jnr is thinking too much about his career prospects just yet. However, if we are to take the word of his famous father, it appears the youngster is showing positive signs to follow in the Real Madrid superstar's illustrious footsteps.
'I want my son to be a player. I am a footballer and I want him to be one too,' the forward told the Chinese channel, Zhejiang Satellite TV, who have been filming Ronaldo as part of a reality show based around him.
'I think he has something of an athlete about him, he has athletic characteristics. Obviously he is very young, a baby, he's only five but he loves football, that is a big plus.'
Despite seeing his offspring display considerable enjoyment for the beautiful game, the 31-year-old has vowed not to become a pushy parent, vowing to let him choose his own destiny.
